Anyone know what happened with this call tonight with 3 mins left in the Chatham-Lambton Shores game?

Hey ROCKET GURL, I realize it is unwise to contradict the official self-appointed queen of the GOJHL and hopefully this doesn't upset her ROYAL MAJESTY, however that's what Mr. Mellor the referee called the penalty.

Doesn't mean Mellor was right; officials get things wrong just as often as anyone else. Do you know what they often say to the penalty box crew when it's a 10 minute misconduct for inciting an opponent? 10 minute misconduct. When it's a 10 minute misconduct for abuse of an official? 10 minute misconduct. I have yet to hear an official say what the reason is for the 10 minute misconduct.

I went looking for ineligible player and according to this refs handbook
http://www.refschool.com/index.php?action=display&cat=25&doc=Important_Things_To_Remember_About_HC_Playing_Rules.pdf,
I found this

3. If, during the game, it is discovered that a participating player is not listed on the gamesheet, that player is only considered an eligible player (and eligible to remain in the game) if the on-ice officials know that the player was present at the start of the game. If it is not known that this was the case, the player is deemed “ineligible”; any goals scored or assisted by the ineligible player shall be washed out and the player is removed from the game.

So the question remains, was it really a bench minor for too many men OR did someone mess up the gamesheet? If you were the person who took the information from Mellor, then we could ask you, did Mellor make the correct call? Was it an ineligible player OR too many men?

Just curious about the whole thing now :D

First off, there's no need for you to be rude, and you don't need to yell at me. Second, it's not self-appointed, I've been called that by a few people.

But as Blades pointed out, an ineligible player means they shouldn't have been in the game. Too many men is still a penalty, I see it on the game sheets.

And just because that's what Mellor said it, a) doesn't mean he was right or b) that's what he meant.
