Strathroy Rockets' head coach Mike Bondy has been named the Ontario Hockey Association Junior B Coach of the Year.

Mike will be honoured at the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto on Friday, June 11th during the OHA annual Awards Ceremony.

I'm thinking Ron Horvat got screwed.He should have been the hands down winner for coach of the year.He did a lot more with a lot less.

I believe this award is by nomination. At least on the OHA website there was form for Nomination of Coach of the Year, so was Ron Horvat even nominated?

I don't discredit his work with the Stars at all. Look at what he did with that team in the play-offs alone. That's a great achievement and I don't think he needs an award to know that.

So many people put so much emphasis on winning certain awards. If you go out and do your job and know that you are an important part of that club, it shouldn't matter if you win Coach of the Year, Scoring Champ, or even Volunteer of the Year. Just knowing that you've made a difference should be honour enough.
